EASA Spring Biannual Meetings in Paris
The European Advertising Standards Alliance (EASA) spring biannual meetings took place in Paris on 24-25 April, hosted by ARPP, the French Advertising Self-Regulatory Organisation, to coincide with its 90th anniversary. On the first day, the main plenary meeting was held inside fabulous Gustave Eiffel lounge located in the iconic Eiffel Tower and featured meaningful discussions on the use of AI in advertising and influencer self-regulation. On the second day, there was a panel discussion on AVMSD which featured officials from the EU Commission and the European Board for Media Services. During the final session, ARPP showcased ongoing work with Google France and Ouidou on using Google Gemini to automate TV ad preclearance and influencer monitoring.

AIG holds its Directors' Lunch in Brussels
AIG hosted its Directors’ Lunch at AT60 – House of the Austrian Economy in Brussels, bringing together representatives from DG Connect, the European Parliament and Council. Attendees exchanged views with EU officials on a variety of topics such as the upcoming review of the AVMSD, e-Privacy and the highly contested Green Claims Directive.

AIG holds breakfast roundtable on digital advertising and the future of European Competitiveness
AIG held a breakfast roundtable breakfast event on digital advertising and the future of European Competitiveness in Brussels. The discussion, which involved policymakers and industry participants, focused on the role of digital advertising in the European economy and how best to approach regulation in a way that nurtures both innovation and economic growth.

AIG Secretariat convenes strategy meeting in Vienna
AIG Secretariat members, WKO, ZAW and AA, convened a strategy meeting in Vienna. The Secretariat met to discuss activities for 2025 as well as the broader strategic orientation of AIG over the next 3 years. Participants were also given a presentation on the impact of the EU AI Act on advertising practice.

EASA Spring Biannual Meetings in Amsterdam
The European Advertising Standards Alliance (EASA) spring biannual meetings were held in Amsterdam between 22-24 May. The meetings featured sessions on influencer marketing and trust in advertising. Additional sessions were hosted by Google on ad safety and VCCP on AI. The meetings were finalised with a discussion panel on responsible advertising, featuring panellists from Google, ASA, Heineken, VCCP and Stichting Reclame Code.

AIG Exchange Partners meet in Brussels
AIG Exchange Partners met in Brussels at the Austrian Permanent Representation office. Verena Martelanz, Deputy Head of WKO’s EU Department, gave some perspectives on the incoming European Parliament and new Commission, and implications to business. The group then discussed e-privacy, AVMSD (HFSS & Alcohol), green claims and influencer marketing among other issues.

The Lisbon Council High-Level Working Meeting on Personalised Ads
Konrad Shek, representative of AIG/Advertising Association was invited to take part in a High-Level Working meeting hosted by the Lisbon Council in Brussels. A mix of experts, civil society, businesses and policymakers gathered together to discuss the status, opportunities and risks of targeted advertising as well as how future policy actions can balance them out.

AIG Directors’ Lunch
The images below are taken from the Advertising Information Group (AIG) Directors’ Lunch held in Brussels on 2 October 2019 to discuss with EU officials the value of advertising to the economy, citizens and media in Europe. The group heard from Othmar Karas MEP, Vice-President of the European Parliament, who delivered his keynote speech, as well as officials from DG CNECT and DG JUST on topics such as e-Privacy, Collective Redress, Dual Quality and the Digital Services Act.
